Many of you will recognize my name from Go Explore as I manage the operations and am often the first contact our clients have as I respond to their booking requests.  For those of you who know me personally you will also know my and family’s love of the Fife coastal town of St Andrews.  I have holidayed here since my childhood and my love of the town continues to grow.

St Andrews is located within the East Neuk of Fife and is possibly the largest of the coastal towns and villages which are super holiday destinations.  If you are considering a Motorhome adventure, located less than 2 hours from Glasgow, St Andrews is a great first destination with plenty on offer for all of the family.

Campsites

St Andrews town itself offers three main Campsites.  St Andrews Holiday Park (Kinkell Braes) is a super location albeit located on a hill.  The campsite is on the main bus route but is easy walking distance into the town centre, along the East Sands passing a playpark and through the harbour with the opportunity for the kids to try some crab fishing.  The campsite has it’s own playpark, games room and a recently refurbished family bar area serving food with a pizza takeaway outlet on site too.

Campsite

During last year we were fortunate enough to stay in Cairnsmill Caravan Site, an independent site with a shop, facilities for the family including a swimming pool, games room and large bar area with great outdoor seating, again this site is on a main bus route and is walking distance into town.

I think our favourite site is Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park perhaps understated by its location with great play areas for the children but with less entertainment facilities.  We have never eaten or drank on site here but it does offer an onsite American BBQ inspired restaurant (I’ve heard their burgers are very good.)  This site is walking distance into the town but we used the hourly bus service – no point tiring out those little legs when they have plenty of meandering through the shops to do.

Outwith the town you will also come across Clayton Caravan Park, Kingsbarns Beach and plenty more sites as you travel round the coast.
